“Lovin’ the Lux Gold” Ensuite
Location: Cobble Hill, BC
Scope of work: Full design and project management of a renovation of the master ensuite
Challenges: The space was outdated and though the room was a decent size, it lacked function. The shower was too small and difficult to access, the toilet was too low as well as the vanities.
Solution: We re-worked the layout to remove the tub the client never used and created a beautiful ensuite with modern conveniences to age in place comfortably.
Once the tub was removed, this freed up a lot of room for a large barrier free walk-in shower with vintage gold fixtures that adds that lux quality to the design. The toilet was moved and wired for a washlet. We heated the floor and shower bench.
One of the most favorite features the client enjoys most is the heated towel rack. Not only is it truly amazing to wrap yourself in a warm towel after you have showered, the more practical benefit is keeping your towels dry.
The vanity was suspended to allow for an occupancy sensor to help illuminate the floor space Lastly, we hardwired a high magnification make up mirror designed for aging eye sight.
