I was fortunate to find Helen! When talking to her other clients, it became clear that she had the expertise, but also would not push me into any traditional or trendy looks. Helen was very willing to design according to my vision, but brought “aging in place” expertise and practical problem solving to the table. She agreed to work with my preferred contractor and his team for the demolition and infrastructure work, due to their experience on other jobs in my complex. Despite unavoidable delays like Christmas and “snowmageddon”, Helen kept the ball rolling and found ways to get the little things done in the end.

“I had recently moved to Vancouver Island and arrived needing to set up my new home. I was exasperated trying to find the right trades people and select the right flooring, furniture and colours; I made costly mistakes! Helen was recommended to me and when I met her, she immediately put me at ease with her enthusiasm, passion and experience.  She assessed my needs and suggested exciting ideas for my new home. Being a senior, planning involved allowing for many future needs and safety concerns. A project investment was set, rooms measured and professional plans were drawn up. I could visualize what was going to happen and see all the exciting colours! All the contractors Helen hired were professional, excellent in their craft and they left my place tidy and clean.  The working relationship between Helen and the contractors was respectful and professional. The stress and time to find stores to search for all the furniture and accessories I needed was totally alleviated by Helen. She patiently helped me with each decision and even accompanied me on excursions. Finally, Helen is an awesome and caring person. As she constantly pops in and solves things, I have nicknamed her “Poppins” I love my new home and so do my family and friends. Thank you, Helen!”
